Electronic Payment for Games

8 Jul 2020 by SA Church Stars Basketball Club

Basketball SA have provided the following information about games fees. This is new information for everyone, if you have questions comment below or email us and will will seek clarification from BSA.

“Covid19 has changed the world in many ways.  With the movement by many organisations and businesses away from paper money transactions a number of digital/electronic options have become available.

Commencing the start of this season Basketball SA will transition to an electronic player payment system for all social and district members.  This will leave only spectator fees payable on entry and this is being reviewed with electronic options being considered.

How the system works:
All players will be required to download an app onto their phone (link and details to follow).  Each player will log into the app, register and confirm their credit card details which is stored in the cloud not on the phone – payment portal ’Stripe".  Should you be concerned an option available is to set a pin number that must be confirmed during any transaction. The fee is set by Basketball SA and equals the current individual player fee for each level of District or in the case of Social games a team fee. The player must then register to each team they play in via a specific team code we supply.

Prior to the game (on game/training night) the team Coach/Manager confirms the match team list.  Once confirmed the player fee is automatically debited against each players nominated payment option.  If a player has a pin in place they must enter this during the confirmation stage (on the confirming mobile).

That is it – payment complete.  The app is currently being tested with the latest modifications to fit our needs – more details will be forwarded shortly followed by team codes for your individual player teams once the season team list has been confirmed and schedule published.”
