Recently we shared information from Basketball SA (BSA) about electronic payments at games. We passed your questions onto BSA and have received the following information in response.
The short version is that in the early weeks of the season the new system is going ahead – a new match fee payment system using an app called ‘Teampay’. User instructions and a start date will be shared soon, then all player payments must be made via the app and door ticket sales will cease. Tap/Go spectator entry payments will remain as before.
Further information and responses from BSA to our questions are below:
-BSA are working on app functionality to allow parents to register multiple children.
-If needed, e.g. when there’s a forfeit, refunds can be issued within a couple of days or the credit can be carried over to the following game.
-Players can be added at any time up to the start time of the game.
-Why isn’t EFTPOS being continued? “EFTPOS requires interaction with counter staff and their requirement to hand over tickets or some form of system that can be monitored to relate player to payment. A ticket is handled by the counter staff, child/parent, coach, referee or score table person and more. This removes this area of concern.”
We’ll be in touch with Team Managers soon when Basketball SA circulates user instructions and the date from which all player payments must be made via the app.
Thank you for working with this change. If there’s questions anytime feel free to ask.
