COVID-19 Update

15 Aug 2020 by SA Church Stars Basketball Club

As you may have seen the State Government have announced requirements which include a ‘Marshall’ in gyms. Basketball SA have advised that the Bio Safety Officer role will suffice as the COVID Marshall where attendance is less than 200 people. Though it’s worth noting that while each of our training venues has a nominated person in this bio safety role and this will continue, it is the responsibility of the owner/management of a venue to ensure any obligations about having a COVID Marshall are met.

Our Club is committed to providing a COVID Safe environment and has a COVID Safe Step 3 Plan in place that all venue bio safety officers have a copy of.

Please visit http://www.basketballsa.com.au/covid-19 to read Return to Play Guidelines, which include:
-Stay home if you are unwell, are in self-isolation or awaiting COVID-19 test results
-Maintain physical distancing
-Practise good hygiene
-One spectator per participant, this allows the guideline of 50 people per court to be met
-Follow instructions of staff and officials
-Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your game and leave promptly after your game, this time is important to allow cleaning between games and control the number of people in each stadium at one time
-Avoid handshakes and high fives
-Provide cashless payment
-Downloading the COVIDSafe app has been recommended by the Government

Thank you everyone, especially our Coaches and Managers for supporting your teams, as we work with these guidelines. Our committee knows this all takes extra time, patience and organising. Thank you for embracing these areas to allow competition to resume, let’s keep it up and not become complacent so we can continue to play.
