About Us
SA Church Stars Basketball Club provides a supportive environment of basketball excellence in the Basketball SA District competition with Christian based values. Our motto is ‘more than basketball’, we believe in basketball excellence, but more importantly in putting people first and developing character. We are the District Club of the Saturday afternoon SA Church Basketball Association competition.

About the Role – Junior Development Officer (JDO)
Reporting to the Club’s Development Officer, this role is currently a volunteer position but includes an opportunity to develop (in consultation with the Committee) and implement a fee for service academy program which would be paid at a rate agreed with the committee. As an emerging club the Committee will undertake an annual review of the role to consider the viability of the JDO converting to a paid position.

The role of the Junior Development Officer is to actively develop, grow, support and strengthen players and coaches of SA Church Stars Basketball Club in line with club values. You will ensure both coaches and assistant coaches are developing the skills and game plans of each team.

The JDO is the point of contact and the communication person between the Coaches and Team Managers and the Development Officer, ensuring issues raised from the team operations and coaches are communicated and followed up with prompt response and any feedback is provided back through the Coaches/Team Managers to players and parents.

The JDO will ensure we put people first and promote an accepting, safe and fun environment for all members to excel as humans and athletes. It’s not all about winning, but about holistically developing players and coaches.
